BOTOX
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical, treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). One short treatment - a few tiny injections - and within days there is a noticeable improvement in those persistent forehead lines. The results can last up to four months.

An exciting new use for Botox has been recently approved by the FDA. This use addresses the problem of hyperhidrosis or excessive perspiration. This is a debilitating condition that has been treated topically in the past. Once this condition is diagnosed by a medical professional, treatments with Botox may begin. Magruder Aesthetics Center is pleased to have Dr. Ivan Tarle who is qualified to administer Botox for this condition.

Facial Filling Procedures
Collagen is actually part of the natural support structure of your skin. Wrinkles form when this natural collagen thins. This loss is primarily a factor of aging; but exposure, pollution, health, heredity and lifestyle also play roles. Without enough collagen, wrinkles and lines start to form wherever the skin moves. For problems such as these, a professional at Magruder Aesthetics Center may make a recommendation for facial filling procedures such as collagen and Restylane which are designed to restore volume and fullness in the identified problem areas. The selected treatment is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient, and results are visible immediately. The treatment area will be anesthetized appropriately. www.restylane.com

Microdermabrasion
A process also referred to as Particle Skin Resurfacing, this treatment is a non-invasive, non-surgical, procedure that uses a highly controlled spray of fine crystals to remove the outer layer of skin and reveal the younger, tighter, and more radiant skin underneath. This is a modern, safe, and virtually painless alternative to harsh chemical treatments.
The average procedure takes less than 30 minutes, depending upon the skin condition, the area to be treated, and the desired outcome. Many will notice improvements in the texture and appearance of their skin immediately after the first treatment.

Sclerotherapy
Spider veins are those tiny purple and red blood vessels found most commonly on the thighs or lower legs of women. Varicose veins are larger. They can appear raised with a bluish color and can become quite painful. Your spider veins and varicose veins can be eliminated permanently through a simple office procedure called sclerotherapy.
During the procedure, a sclerosing solution is injected into the vein through a micro-needle. The tiny needle causes very little pain. The solution displaces the blood within the vein and causes the vein to blanch and gradually disappear. A typical treatment may take up to one hour. Patients are usually encouraged to resume normal activities immediately.

Photorejuventation
An exciting new procedure in the aesthetics industry, the intermittent pulse light (IPL) treatment that simultaneously treats the problems of photo-aged skin, age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and broken capillaries while giving the skin a tighter and younger look. It selectively takes away those kinds of changes that develop with age. New collagen forms in the skin, which gives it a smoother texture. Fine lines and wrinkles will fade, and pores will be reduce up to 50% in size. Patient with facial veins, Rosacea, or red cheeks should see results after the first treatment. Treatments can take place on the lunch hour allowing the patient to resume normal activities immediately.

Permanent Hair Reduction
A problem for men and women alike, hair reduction treatment is accomplished by the most up-to-date laser equipment available. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling numerous follicles at a time, to eliminate or significantly impede the hairs' growth. The laser's "chilled tips" protect and cool the upper layers of the skin before, during and after each pulse while directing the laser energy to the root. The combination of skin cooling, laser frequency, and pulse durations allow for safe and effective treatment of all skin types and colors.

Eyelid Surgery
Almost everyone develops some sagging around his or her eyes. Loose excess skin, weak muscles or a combination of both causes sagging of the upper lids. Repeated stretching causes the skin and muscles of the upper eyelid to get longer. Also bags may develop under the eyes with age, and even young people may have this problem.
The procedure called blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia with mild sedation. Incisions in the eyelid are usually placed in the crease above each eye to correct problems of the upper lid. To remove the fatty deposits beneath the eyes, the incisions are placed just inside the lower eyelid. Incisions are closed with tiny absorbable sutures.
DR. IVAN TARLE is an expert in this field and will welcome your call and appointment for a consultation.

LASIK
LASIK is an FDA approved laser refractive procedure to correct a wide range of myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. In LASIK a thin layer of the cornea is lifted to create a flap. The laser sculpts the cornea, then the flap is returned for a quick, natural recovery. The goal of LASIK is to help reduce your need for glasses and contact lenses.
The procedure typically takes 15 minutes per eye and the patient can usually return to work within 48 hours.
Dr. Kelly Herschel performs this procedure in the office and will welcome your consultation for this important procedure.
