Woman with glassesProgressive lenses, also known as progressive addition lenses, or multifocal lenses, are prescribed when a patient has presbyopia. Presbyopia is when the natural lens in the eye loses its ability to focus on objects that are close. Reading glasses are usually needed when a patient has presbyopia.

Progressive lens are line free multifocals that have a seemless progression of lens power. The lens power in most progressive lenses are determined by the patient’s visual needs.
